Where We Work

Northam, and the communities around it.

Northam and surrounding communities within Thabazimbi Local Municipality and parts of North West Province.

A mining town with distances to cover

Northam sits at the edge of Limpopo's platinum belt, with a population that moves between mine housing, informal settlements, farms and villages. Many of the people who need us most cannot afford transport into town, so our work has to move too.

From our office in No. 06 Venter Street, our team runs walk-in counselling and casework. Outside town, we work through outreach days, community gatherings and partnerships with clinics, schools, SAPS and traditional structures so that support reaches people where they already are.

Outreach in the community

Mobile sessions bring counselling, information and referral support into neighbourhoods, using community halls, open yards and shaded gazebos as temporary service points. For many attendees it is the first time they learn what support exists and how to reach it.
